Griphook is a goblin character from the Harry Potter universe. He is a prominent figure within the goblin community and a key employee at Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Griphook is first introduced in *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone* (2001 Movie) where he is tasked with escorting Harry Potter and Hagrid through the bank's labyrinthine vaults. His knowledge of Gringotts' security measures and goblin laws later becomes crucial in Harry, Ron, and Hermione's plan to infiltrate the Lestrange vault in *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2* (2011 Movie).
While initially assisting the trio, Griphook is ultimately motivated by his own self-interest and the goblin desire to reclaim what they believe was stolen from them by wizards, particularly the Sword of Gryffindor. He plays a complex and morally ambiguous role throughout the series.
